In order to attract the fallen conditioned souls to return to the spiritual world, the Supreme personality of Godhead, Lord krishna periodically descends to earth and reveals before the world his most attractive transcendental loving pastimes.

When the Lord descends, servants and associates, who assist him in performing his innumerable pastime.

Before Lord Krishna descent 5,000 years ago, He had manifested on the earthly plane his own transcendental abode, known as Gokula Vrindavan. This Transcendental abode, also known as dhama, is non-different from the Lord's abode in the spiritual world and is never considered to be a part of this material world.

When lord Krishna transcendental pastime on earth have been completed and the Lord returns to the spritual world, he leaves behind his transcendental abode so that his devotees on earth can go and take sheltor there.

Within the holy Dhama, which by material calculation has a diameter of 84 miles, are twelve sacred forests where Lord krishna enjoyed many transcendental pastimes. Of these twelve forests, the forest of Vrindavan is considered to be not only the most sacred but also the largest. Within it the most intimate and confidential pastime of divine love took place .

Situated in the middle of this nast forest is the transcendental mountain known as Goverdhan Hill. Upto the slopes of this transcendental mountains Lord Krishna enjoyed innumerable childhood pastime surrounded by his most confidential associates - the beautiful milk-maids and cowherd boys of vrindavan.
